A legend born after the war

To tell her story, we need to go back to 1948. In Austria, Ferdinand Porsche presents the first car to bear the family name: the 356 is born, the forerunner of every Porsche to come.

Built on the basis of the Volkswagen Beetle and produced until 1965, she immediately won over enthusiasts with her compact, rounded lines, rear engine and a lightness that makes her agile and fun. In the United States she became a style icon, especially in the Speedster version: a 356 Speedster was one of the cars James Dean raced in his first competitions.

Her success was such that, in the years that followed, many hand-built replicas appeared, capturing her design and spirit. Ours is part of this story: a car that is now half a century old and has a character all her own.
