Vinsanto, Nobile wine and Brunello wine
A food and wine tour that fills the eyes as much as the throat !! Ideal places to see the different vineyards up close in every season and thanks to man's commitment to giving life to wines famous all over the world such as Vin Santo, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and Brunello di Montalcino. This itinerary allows you to see and also understand why everything in this area has been set up for centuries to produce excellent cuisine, breathtaking landscapes and, last but not least, the pleasure of a good glass. Countless prestigious wineries very often more like museums than simple storage rooms, as well as building something new respecting, and in harmony with our surroundings. Our agreements with some of them can help you live this experience during your tour ....... the important thing is to take more photos than you taste!

The journey in the Val d'Orcia, with the wheat, the scents of spring and the magic of the vineyards all find a symmetry with the honey of the Val d'Orcia, in the extra virgin olive oil of Castiglione d'Orcia, in the Cinta Senese cured meats, the mushrooms, the truffles and of course Pienza's pecorino cheese.
And to frame this landscape, in a food and wine tour that knows how to satisfy both the eyes and the palate, you will be able to sample three excellent wines that have contributed to making the Val d'Orcia famous all over the world: Vin Santo, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and Brunello di Montalcino.

The journey through the vines of the Val d'Orcia creates an appetite ... so this is the perfect time to stop and enjoy a good platter of cold cuts and cheeses accompanied by the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG. This wine, defined as 'perfectly perfect' by the bottler of Pope Paul III, has been linked since the 16th century to the municipality of Montepulciano. Its decidedly full structure is enhanced by long maturation periods, which give this wine a complexity of aromas and flavors, born from the local grape Sangiovese grosso, also known as Prugnolo gentile.

A course of red meat or game could, however, accompany the famous Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, a wine with a harmonious and robust body, with an intense aroma and a strong color, the fruit of the vines of Montalcino, in the province of Siena. The elegance of this wine is the result of a long period of aging: the confirmation that to obtain excellent results, you need to be patient!

And, last but not least, here are the typical Tuscan cantuccini, to drink with a good glass of Vin Santo, the wine of hospitality for the Tuscans of yesterday, like those of today. Born from a special harmony between man, time and nature, Vin Santo is obtained by late harvesting the long white Malvasia and Tuscan Trebbiano grapes, hanging them to dry for months, until the moment of pressing, and letting the must rest for years in small barrels.
We just have to wish you a good trip, aboard vintage cars that we recommend renting for this tour dedicated to Tuscan flavors and smells, and to visiting the numerous prestigious wineries in the area.
